Welcome to RoyaCradle. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RoyaCradle application ("the App"), available at royacradle.com. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These Terms are available in English only. Where the App is used in other languages, the English version of these Terms governs in case of any inconsistency.
1. About RoyaCradle
RoyaCradle is an AI-powered parenting guidance progressive web application (PWA) designed to help parents and carers track their children's development and receive general parenting guidance. The App is operated by RoyaCradle ("we", "us", "our").
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use RoyaCradle.
- The App is designed for parents and carers — it is not intended for use by children.
- By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. Account Registration
- You may use the App without creating an account. Core features work offline and without registration.
- If you choose to create an account (for cloud sync and premium features), you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Free and Premium Services
4.1 Free Tier
The free tier includes:
- Up to 5 AI guidance questions per week
- Baby and child tracking (feeding, sleep, nappies, mood, growth)
- Daily activity suggestions
- Milestone tracking
- Data export
4.2 Premium Subscription
Premium features (currently $2.99 USD/month) include:
- Unlimited AI guidance questions
- Sleep Intelligence (AI-powered sleep pattern analysis)
- Weekly development reports
- Family carer management (invite and manage carers)
- AI Vision (photo analysis for developmental guidance)
- Quick Contact (speed dial for important contacts)
4.3 Subscription Terms
- Billing: Premium subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor (Lemonsqueezy). Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless cancelled.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period. You will be charged the then-current subscription price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@royacradle.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to premium features until then.
- Refunds: If you cancel within 14 days of your initial purchase and have not substantially used premium features, you may request a full refund by contacting support@royacradle.com. After 14 days, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
- Price changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at your next renewal date. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
- Free trial: If we offer a free trial, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
This is important — please read carefully.
- RoyaCradle's AI guidance is generated by artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude). It provides general parenting information and suggestions only.
- AI responses are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up to date.
- AI guidance is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or developmental advice.
- The AI may occasionally produce incorrect, inappropriate, or inconsistent information.
- You should always verify important information with qualified professionals, especially regarding your child's health and development.
- We do not warrant or guarantee any particular outcome from following AI-generated guidance.
6. Health and Medical Disclaimer
RoyaCradle is NOT a medical device. It does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- The App is for general informational and educational purposes only.
- Nothing in the App should be interpreted as medical advice.
- Milestone tracking and developmental information are general guides — every child develops differently.
- Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider for any medical concerns about your child.
- Never delay seeking medical attention because of something you read in the App.
- If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.
7. User Data and Content
7.1 Your Data
- By default, all your data (profiles, logs, notes) is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to locally stored data.
- If you create an account and enable cloud sync, your family profiles, children's information, and activity logs are synced to our cloud database (Supabase) to enable multi-device access and carer features.
- You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App.
- You can export all your data at any time from Settings.
- You can permanently delete all your data at any time from Settings.
7.2 Content You Provide
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of information you enter, including children's profiles, activity logs, notes, and photos.
- By uploading photos for AI Vision analysis, you confirm you have the right to share those images and that they do not contain inappropriate content.
- We do not claim ownership of your content. We access it only to provide the services you request (e.g., AI analysis, cloud sync).
8. Carer System
- Parents can invite carers (family members, nannies, etc.) to view their children's profiles and add activity logs.
- As a parent, you are responsible for managing who has carer access to your children's information.
- Carers receive restricted access — they can view children's profiles and add logs but cannot modify account settings or billing.
- You can revoke a carer's access at any time.
- By inviting a carer, you confirm you have their consent to share relevant information with them.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security measures.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to access the App or its API.
- Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code.
- Use the AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App beyond what is permitted by law.
- Use the App in any way that could harm, disable, or impair our services.
- Enter information about children without proper parental authority or legal guardianship.
- Share your account credentials or premium subscription with others (use the carer invite system instead).
10. Intellectual Property
- The App, including its design, code, branding, and AI-generated content structure, is owned by RoyaCradle and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial parenting purposes.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our written permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
- Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50 USD, whichever is greater).
- We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated guidance, including decisions about your child's health, development, or care.
- We are not responsible for data loss if you choose not to enable cloud sync or if you reset your device without exporting your data first.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoyaCradle from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the App; (c) content you provide through the App; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party rights.
13. Service Availability
- We aim to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- The App is designed to work offline — core tracking features continue to function without an internet connection.
- AI features, cloud sync, and carer management require an internet connection.
- We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire App with reasonable notice where possible.
14. Termination
- You may stop using the App at any time. To delete your data, use the "Reset all data" option in Settings or contact us.
- If you have an account, you may request account deletion by emailing support@royacradle.com.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or engage in behaviour that harms other users or our infrastructure.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Locally stored data remains on your device unless you delete it. Cloud-synced data will be deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
15. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. By using the App, you agree to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Services
We are not responsible for the practices or policies of third-party services.
17. Changes to These Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email (if you have an account).
- The "last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were last made.
- Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
- If you disagree with updated Terms, you should stop using the App and delete your account.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence.
- Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
19. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RoyaCradle regarding the App.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to a successor or affiliate.
- No agency: Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment, or agency relationship between you and RoyaCradle.
